If an applicant decides that they would prefer a standard application rather than a divisional application, for instance, because the prospect of registration is enhanced by having a later filing date, the applicant can request deletion under subsection 65(7) of the divisional claim from the application. After the divisional claim is removed, the application will then proceed with the filing / priority date being the day on which it was lodged.
